Our Mission

Voices Below the Surface is an organisation run by a community of people, influenced by its community and their needs, primarily its need to fight social injustice, systemic problems, personal ordeals and educational failings. We are also an organisation that bolsters its community by promoting small businesses, artists and creatives that are inclusive and unique.

At our core we are people with experiences trying to help people actively experiencing.

We do this in any safe, legal way or shape we can think of and are always open to ideas from the community or our team.

A lot of our work is aimed at campaigning for change in broken systems and creating work that will get into the community to assist with that.

As apart of our work we aim to;

  • Curate talks in schools, primarily looking at education, information and guidance to the Staff and Students.

  • Attend Panels and Conferences in different professional sectors, looking at understanding, educating and developing professional understanding of us.

  • Supporting victims in medical and official engagements, a sector of our team is dedicated to mental health support and the majority of our company will always be on hand to volunteer their time to victims or at risk people, where they can attend medical appointments or legal/professional events, if relevant.

  • Raising awareness online, this is a core part of our company and something the majority of our energy will focus on. We plan to engage in live events, awareness posts, community support options and at our forefront keep engaged with the vast variety of our community. While we are not political, we will find areas of concern with government actions and raise awareness on how better those resources could be used.

  • Promoting Small Businesses and Creatives, as a part of our bid to improve the community we plan to collaborate, promote and engage with as many small businesses and creative people as possible, including our Creative team who will create pieces the community can purchase.

  • Bringing awareness and education to the chronically and mentally ill communities, also assistance for their communities. This was a big focus from our team's goals, wanting to educate on the realities of disabled people and how to help them.

  • Educate Emergency services on engaging with at risk people and make emergency services and the community aware of certain signs, symptoms and aids such as the Highways Sunflower.

To simplify, we want to reach and educate as many people as possible, working within the systems to create changes and support so that in tow will create a tidal wave in the community and ensure our work is never just a protest.
